10.9.11

What a gorgeous Fall Day! This morning we made our first "venture" to our favorite bagel shop, which we do most Sundays before heading to church services.  I ordered our "usual" and then we enjoyed it in our car.  We then made our way to a local park and went for a small walk, returning home to rest.  Jim is doing very well.  Though at times, he might "over-do-it" a slight bit, (which to me is a sign of him continuing to get stronger and heal), things are going well.  This afternoon we will be watching the EAGLES, as well as taking another walk or two.

We still haven't got the regulating of the over-the-counter pain relief and when prescription-type pain relief should be taken so there is not an increase of pain during the night.  I think today we have it the way it should work. We're trying to stay "ahead" of the pain and it is more difficult with OTC drugs. We are so thankful that Jim's recovery is going so well.

This morning we received a text from "our angel" that she was on the plane and getting ready to leave for Texas.  We know that prayers are continuing to be said for her and us and we thank you for those thoughts and prayers.

A tired birthday-boy!

Yesterday was a milestone day for our family.  Not so much in regards to the recovery, but in our lives.  Our grandson, Jackson, celebrated his 1st birthday party (actual birthday is 10.10) with family and friends.  Grumps was part of the activities through using skype.  Jim's dear "friend" came for a visit while I went to the party.  It was a wonderful, amazing, a bit emotional for me too day.  We can't believe that it has been a year already that we have been grandparents.  How blessed we truly are!!

This is the day that the Lord has made, I'm rejoicing and I'm glad, may you also,

~Tina
