10.17.11

Today was another good day.  Each day Jim continues to get stronger.  Our daily walks (2 a day) are increasing in length.  Jim's energy level is also continuing to increase. He continues to rest, which is good for his healing process and we continue to limit visits, but have had several visits and phone calls over the last few days.  Jim is doing well with "avoiding" other contact due to his resistance being so low because of the medications he is taking.  The fact is that rest is important after a major surgery, but the main reason for not having many visitors, and staying out of large enclosed crowded areas, is due to his immune system being weak at this time. Hand shaking and hugs are "off-limits" when Jim greets/meets individuals right now.  It's something for him to get used to that's for sure. He is doing amazing well and we are so thankful for how his recovery is going.

Tomorrow is our daughter's 26th birthday.  Can't believe that our "baby" is turning 26!!  We have a tradtion of having a "favorite meal" prepared and/or going out to an establishment to celebrate, and most times we do both.  Last year for Megan's birthday we celebrated with takeout because she was just home a few days after having Jackson (her and Lindsay's son--our grandson).  This year Matt, Lindsay, Megan and Jackson will be here at our home to celebrate her birthdaywith one of her favorite homemade dinners.  How blessed we are to have our family live so close and also want to be together with each other.  So blessed for sure!
