Matt is doing remarkably well. We had a bit of an issue yesterday when he started having some pain and swelling and redness on his side area, but today it is almost normal and the pain is much less or gone. We thought we would have to travel to Jefferson today, but since he is much better and we did not hear back from the on-call physician, we will just hold off until Matt's appointment with his personal surgeon on Thursday. Matt definitely plans to discuss this particular situation with his doctor on Thursday due to not hearing back from the on-call personnel. Thankful that he is doing so well.
Matt went for a much longer walk today and he is really doing and looking less drained with good color in his face and no fever (thank you Lord) since he came home on Monday. Last night was a great night sleep for him (first truly since he had his surgery) and though he tires easier right now, he is improving every day.
Though we didn't have grand plans for Thanksgiving, I must say it was one of the best ever. We had a lovely dinner (thank you to Megan making over half of the meal), and then an afternoon of football and just enjoying being with each other. Some napping, lots of laughing and just "being". I enjoyed just looking at my husband, who is doing great from his recent kidney transplant, our daughter and son-in-love, who continue to do anything and everything, most times without even saying a word, our son, Matt, how is healing so nicely and gaining strength daily, and the pure joy that Jackson, our grandson gives all of us, just being, JACKSON!! Like I said, one of the best ever!! GISG
If fact today, Jim, Matt and Lindsay insisted that Megan and I go do some shopping and just spend the day and not think about anything but just getting out and about! We stayed in contact through cell messages and Megan and I had a great day down in Rehoboth at the outlets. We left around 10:00 a.m this morning and arrived home around 6:00 p.m. I mentioned to Megan that it has been since the middle of September that I have gone and done something for such a long period of time, and not think at all about the time or having to hurry and get back home. SO thankful for the men on our lives.
Enjoy this holiday weekend and make sure through the hustle and bustle of this time, you don't like precious blessings, such as "just being" pass you by. Those little things ART the most important things.
Keep the prayers coming!
Thankful for you,
~Tina
